Not being bias

When we are speaking in context of Malaysia, preceding, when yellow colour being portrays, it resembles nothing but the communication company in Malaysia called Digi. But as human we are much influence, now the yellow colours, either positive or negatively will resembles to Bersih Rally 3.0.As youth, the front line of future generation, it is compulsory for every one of us here  to know what happening in our country , the pattern of the politic and the sociology of it. So here we are today neither promoting nor manifesting , but speaking from the veil of honesty just to be informative and sharing with all of you today , the hot button issue in our country , the bersih 3.0 rally.
The Bersih 3.0 rally (also called the Sit In rally or Duduk Bantah in Malay) was a demonstration in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia held on 28 April 2012. This rally was organised as a follow-up to the 2011 Bersih rally and the 2007 Bersih rally. The rally, organised by the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih), was supported by Pakatan Rakyat, the coalition of the three largest opposition parties in Malaysia.
The goal for  bersih is to have a clean and fair elections and goes against the insincere forms of elections where phantom voters are spotted and the insincerity of the duty from the electoral .What the bersih demands were :

Clean the electoral roll
Reform postal voting
Use of indelible ink
A minimum campaign period of 21 days
Free and fair access to mainstream media
Strengthen public institutions
Stop corruption
Stop dirty politics
Ladies and gentlemen,
Sadly, the harmony and peaceful demonstration have been wrongly interpreted. Instead having a harmony demonstration, what have been illustrated is more to riot and chaotic situation that brought fear to both local residence and international visitors. There are several controversial issues came out during the demonstration, which are, police brutality and bias media coverage.
Now what put us in concern are,The videos of police brutality and how ill-treated the participant of bersih have been widely spread and broadcast internationally online. The viewers from in and out of Malaysia now have different picture for Malaysia and less respect towards the police.Until now we don’t have clues who is wrong and who is right as the investigation is still going on, but speaking from the perspective of media practitioner, these issues have been dragged into the spiral of silence.
The media is being bias in coverage in reporting that is what claimed by the bersih rally participant. If we really look through it, what have been broadcast by the real situation and the participant compared to what reported, we can track an obvious contrast. This action of being secretive by media, have somehow brings the citizen into dissatisfaction and anger for them to not be true all this while and feed the citizen with all the lies and twisted truth.
No one is guilty until proven guilty. We all subscribe to that and we will just have to wait and see what the result and extend action for all the above issue. Here we just want to emphasize what is bersih, to inform and share the details that we know, Because we believe as the future generation,it is wise for us to know what the leader of the country doing and how is the politics , because they are what left for us in future.
Ladies and gentleman,We believe our duty is just to inform and sharing , the choice to believe, to subscribe or not is in your hand. As youth that one day will be the one voting for the election, we will play the big role and our decision matters to everyone.Use your wise judgement to take these as bad or wrong, but always bear in mind whatever decision you have made you have to face the consequences and choose wisely for the sake of your future, your family future and our future. The power of changing Malaysia into better place is in your hand. The choice is yours.Thank you.

Awesome Strangers reminds you that you’re Awesome!

Greetings to every awesome soul who is reading this! The Awesome Strangers would like to express our gratitude towards your warm support for the Awesome Strangers. You are simply awesome! We are sure that everyone is curious about us? Who are the Awesome Strangers? And what is our mission?

We are college students and we call ourselves the Awesome Strangers. We are inspired by the famous 9GAG crew and as youths we face many challenges and obstacles daily. We have also witnessed many of our fellow friends who are very low in self-esteem and they do not appreciate their blessed-skills which God has granted upon them,  both mentally and physically. Due to this, they tend to become a copy-cat and they mislead themselves towards a life which is not theirs.

Our objective is to create awareness in making every human being to appreciate themselves and live their life towards their own desires and NOT others! To be proud of what they want to be, to live a life as a human being who enjoys the privilege free will and freedom to choose, and not as a marionette that dances on the stage of life by others.

Our mission is to reach out to as many souls that we can to remind them that they are awesome in their own special way. Everyone is special, and God did not make you less-different from others. We are all the same just that we need to seek deep within our hearts for our special ingredient and when we have this secret recipe, make sure to make use of it. Do not be scared or ashamed to say it out or act it out. This is because; you may only have one last chance in your life to prove to the world that you are not useless. Stand up for yourself and do not be afraid for you will shine like the Sun so bright! Therefore, sit tight, relax, buckle your sit and stay true to yourself because YOU ARE AWESOME!

Moreover, the Awesome Strangers would need your helping hand to support our mission and spread our good news to everyone you know, remind them that they are awesome and the world will be a happier place to live with everyone so happy with themselves. No more suicides and no more self-abuse is what we dream of. You may also keep in touch with the Awesome Strangers by liking our Facebook page ( Awesome Strangers ) and also our Twitter ( @AwsmStrangers ) Visit our page and tell us that you are awesome !

Love is like a Cigarette.

Love is like a cigarette,

It's gone when i'm satisfied, and I desire when I have not had it after awhile.

When I'm done, the bud of the cigarette is thrown into the bin,

Just like love, we throw it away when we don't find any use of it anymore.

Love is like a cigarette,

It is easily bought with money.

It is always like the saying " No Money, No Talk "

And only true love is bought with the sincere heart of each other.

Thus, we need to seek for our true love, because looks and money is not important,

and life is not all about money. You may be rich but if you're sad, then it is better to have a middle-class life but living happily.

thank you <3 Hatta. :)

Remp-it

This picture was taking while i waiting for a bus.
its located at KLMU, Jln Raja Laut. Kuala Lumpur.
The reason why i'm posting here is want to talk about the dangerous action from the motorcyclist.
The action that they called is 'remp-it'.
i feel curious why they are doing all this and fortunately there are some bunch of group where they stop at the Plaza Hotel.
so i decided to asked the one them for a further information.

A : sorry for asking, what happened to you guys ?
Male 1 : nothing much, my friend here need some help because there are something wrong with his motorcycle.
A : what happened to his motorcycle sir?
Male 1 : well,  he cant manage to control and he almost lose his live.
A : WHAT ?! how can this happened?
Male 2 : my dear its my passion for doing all this. even though the action is illegal for participating the race but i'm enjoy.
A : Sir, because of this kind of race you may lose your live !
Male 2 : when you are entering my world you know what the feel i had. winning the race you can have the some enjoyment which you cant imagined !
A : like what sir?
Male 1 : you cant tell her !
Male 2 : my dear have you watch the movies? this kind of movie? you can have the "thing" and enjoy them!
A : OKAY ! good luck then!

the conversation make me feel unconformable so i decided to take a taxi and go home.

Dear Youth please do not do this kind of action.
AVOID YOURSELF !
Asked yourself what you can do for your country
and do not asked the country what they can do for you!

Love,
Amyfauzi

Earth Quake Tremors 11/4/2012

It was a public holiday here in Malaysia. Family was all at home having some quality time. Some of my relatives came over to visit my new born niece and everybody was so happy. But approximately at 4.15p.m that evening, the chair I was sitting on started to sway from right to the left. It was not so forceful as you may think, but it was surely creepy enough to realize that the condominium my family inhabited was shaking. We all got panicked and quickly grabbed our wallets and evacuated my house at once. We used the stairway and it was still trembling, I felt so dizzy.

As we reach downstairs where it was safer to be at, other residents also started coming down. We all waited until it was safe to go back up. It surely made us frightened and was really worried. My brother quickly switch the television on to watch the news. We were not shocked to notice the latest updates from CNN that Banda Aceh was hit by a earthquake of 8.6 magnitude on the Richter scale. It was pretty frightening to see the terror in the eyes of the people at Banda Aceh, Indonesia.  We then also was informed that the Tsunami Alert was on  and was worried for them and also ourselves. We thought many more tremors will be felt but thank goodness everything subsided and Tsunami Alerts was cancelled.

It is surely a day to not forget. It also made me realize that the world can end at anytime and I need to prepare myself for the afterlife. It is also scary to think but this is the reality. Let's all pray that everything will be alright. I apologize that I could not get any photo footage's of today's tremors at my condominium on how everyone reacted. We were all so worried and could not think of taking photos. God bless !

Litter No More Campaign Proposal

Purpose :
Our purpose is to educate the Citizens of Malaysia to leave their bad habits of Littering regardless directly into the rivers or indirectly into the rivers. We are going to get as much attention from the citizens of Malaysia and ensure they realize the bad effects of littering in the public.

Our Target Audience :

Youths in Malaysia.
As it is always said “ The children are our future “ therefore we have chosen the youths as our main target audience for we hope that the effectiveness of this program will be a long-term program and we have encountered that usually most youths in Malaysia are the prime ones who are littering with no hesitations. Youths are naïve and ignorant therefore they are not bothered about the well-being of the environment and the good-cause of not littering.

Plan targets :

Youths staying nearby rivers in Klang Valley
Having the rivers always polluted with rubbish thrown by ignorant human beings, it is the main cause of flash flood occurring in the Klang Valley. If we focus on the youths living nearby rivers such as the Gombak river, Klang river and also schools nearby the rivers like St. Johns School, Convent Bukit Nanas and Victoria Institution we are on a stepping-stone for a better and healthier environment in Malaysia.

Goals :

To save Malaysia From facing flash floods crisis
Littering is the main cause of flash floods to occur and by educating the youths in Malaysia we have a much more promising environment and risk of flash floods to occur is very minimal. Thus, we are going to give talks and disseminate the brochures nationwide in order everyone gets our message and especially they youths will realize their bad habit and change for the betterment.

Bring awareness to the Public of the negative effects on littering.
Awareness towards the public especially the youths is a necessity for they are our target audience. We are going to educate and convince as much as possible in order they get the message and realize that if they continue littering, the country is just going to be in sheer mayhem and lives of the nation will be in jeopardy.

Objective : To educate the public about the benefit of saving the earth from a disaster such like flash
floods and by that Malaysia will be in the list of the TOP 10 CLEANEST COUNTRY.

Tactic :.

Official Launching
We are going to have an official launching and to be officiated by Y.B Dato’ Sri Douglas Uggah Embas who is the Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment (NRE) or his representative. With this in increases the credibility of our program and the government will also support of good-will. At the official launching we are also going to invite a local artist ( Aizat from Akedemi Fantasia ) for he will be a good celebrity to endorse our program to attract the attention of many youths. He will perform and also say a few words to the audience. The song he will sing is “Heal The Word” popularized by the late Michael Jackson for the meaning of the song is about saving the earth and the children. The official launching will be held at the Midvalley Megamall for youths are usually visiting the malls. Thus, this will be our location for the official launching.

Press-Conference
We are also going to hold a press-conference after the official launching and we are going to invite reporters such as The News Straits Times. The News Straits Times covers mostly news on educational and their public audience are usually the youths. Thus, this will be a good newspaper to publish our story and it will also be the appropriate medium. Besides the NST, we are also going to invite reporters from other newspapers as well such as The Star, Berita Harian and China Press. At the press-conference we are going to also give out posters and merchandise for the people who attended.

Voluntarily Works
We are going to also invite volunteers to come and help us out in our mission and forms can be found online and also malls around the Klang Valley. We are using the internet to send out application forms for the volunteers is because it is the most convenient way and also youths mostly are internet literate. However, volunteers are not only for youths only but also open to people aged from between 18 and above. The main reason we are having volunteers to join our program is because we are not a high-budget organization and to hire employees will be a burden to our organization if we have to pay for their services. Volunteers are also going to be our “ Opinion Leader “. We are going to educate and train them to preach our word to everyone. They will also be part of our “ Speaker Team “ and they will attend to all our educational talks.

Disseminating Posters
We have composed posters which we believe can bring awareness just by reading it. Visuals we have attached are prone to be very emotional and it is our technique to get the attention of the fellow youths. We are also including comic characters into our posters as it is also another way to attract the younger generation of the youths to receive our message. Colours used are vibrant and bright such as red and yellow for it is good way to catch the attention of a person. Fonts are also big and bold. Furthermore, we are going to disseminate these posters to our public on the official launching and also at public schools, colleges, universities, government buildings, religious buildings, public buildings and housing area shop-lots with the help of our fellow volunteers and committee members.

Mass Media Approach
We are going to use the media for it is the most conducive way to transmit our message to our public and since the youths are mostly attached to media such as internet ( social networks ) and television. Therefore, we are going to prioritize on these areas. However, we are also including our message in newspapers and magazines such as Cleo magazine, Remaja Magazine, and Readers Digest. We believe that youths usually gain information mostly from the media and the media is one of the fastest ways to spread our news. Television channels we have chosen to include our short-advertisement will be TV8 and TV3. For TV8 we are going to include it during the commercials between the Quickie at 8 show which starts at 9.00 pm onwards on weekends. And for TV 3 we are going to include it during the Melodi show which is aired on Saturdays as well. To go the extra mile, we are also going to get these host of the programs on these chosen channels to shout-out to the viewers of our program and persuade them in supporting us.

Clean Our Rivers
As our research have concluded that the rivers are our main problem for flash flood to occur in Kuala Lumpur. Thus, we have come-up with another event to be held to clean the Gombak River. We will publish this on all Malaysian local newspapers to invite everyone to come join us. We are also going to invite personally to all schools within the Klang Valley to encourage their students to join us. Transportation will be sponsored by Transnasional Sdn Bhd and these busses will transfer back and fro the students from their schools to the location. Details of the event is as per below :

Date : 18th February 2012 ( Saturday )
Time : 0900hrs – 1200hrs
Location : Gombak River, Batu 8 – Batu 12

This event will also be joined by VIPS such as the Minister of the Natural Resources and Environment ( NRE ) and his team also reporters from local newspapers. We expect the approximate people to join this event is about 1000 people to clean the Gombak River from the 8th Mile upto the 12th Mile. We have got volunteers to help co-ordinate the division of job task. The Alam Flora company also agreed to come help us to properly dispose the rubbish picked from the rivers by all of us. Light breakfast and Lunch is also given out to everyone participating. We are also going to have few games whilst cleaning the rivers to cheer up the ambiance.

Designated Trash Bins
We have come-up with an idea to design our own bins to be placed in public areas. These bins are designed with a poster attached on it to remind the people to dispose their rubbish properly. We believe that by constantly reminding people it will somehow make everyone get adapted to it and it will be a new habit of not littering. This is another way for us to reach out to the public to persuade them to not litter. We have got the agreement of the Minister of NRE to sponsor 100,000 bins to be distributed to schools, public buildings, colleges and more.

Slogans : Love the environment for it is our habitat.

PR CASE STUDY

QUESTION : Explain the importance of Public Relations in the industry, and how does it benefits the organisation which practice public relations. In the case of the National Zoo, how can Public Relations practice help the organization to increase its publicity to gain more visitors and volunteers.

Public Relations (PR) with its definition of achieving mutual understanding of its organization with its public does portray an image of a communication and crisis management expert. However, PR is not only about transmitting messages between its public and the organization but is also a body who publicities an organization/company to its public. For instance, a rebranding of a company is made known to the public by road-shows, campaigns, exhibitions, talks, etc. Moreover, it is very much more economical compared to Advertising which will cost a fortune. Furthermore, PR is not only more economical but also more effective. People tend to remember if they are introduced and explained about something rather than just watching or viewing an advertisement. This is because, in PR theories such as Hypodermic Syringe/magic bullet is practiced and this appeals to be very effective. There are also various points of views of PR. This is another definition which I found complete:

“Public relation is the practice of getting attention and shaping public opinion. Its tools include publicity, advertising, public affairs forums, lobbying public officials, and any and every other means that gets a message out to the public. Mostly however it is about placing stories in the media, getting newspapers, radio and television to accept stories or messages sourced from PR agencies. This gives the illusion that the client's message is simply the product of impartial journalism rather than advertising with which the consumer is more familiar and resistant. Sir Tim Bell, of Bell Pottinger, comments, "A strong story placed in the newspaper, picked up by everybody else, will actually have more impact than an advertising campaign."

Public relations use many of the tools of marketing and may be used to promote a particular product but often it is employed in pursuit of a slightly different goal. Marketing (including advertising and promotion) is about selling products and services whereas PR is often concerned with selling persons, government policies, corporations, and other institutions. In addition to marketing products, PR has been vastly used to attract investments, influence legislation, raise companies' public profiles, put a positive spin on disasters, undermine citizens’ campaigns, gain public support for conducting warfare, and to change the public perception of repressive regimes. In a modern democracy the mechanisms of propaganda and control must necessarily be far more subtle than those employed by more repressive regimes and PR or ‘spin-doctoring’ has become ubiquitous in the western political economy.

By necessity the industry keeps a very low profile, however. Although the public consumes a huge amount of their work, companies such as Burson-Marsteller or Bell Pottinger are far from household names. Michie quotes a top British spin doctor as saying "'PR is very much an invisible art and it doesn't serve our purposes to reveal how much we manipulate journalists and the public”

Thus, PR is definitely an important role in a company and every organization should establish a PR department to ensure its company to be successful. PR practitioners are usually very updated. They are knowledgeable and know what the market is asking for. If they do not have a glimpse of what the market is in demand of, they will come up with research, interviews and also observation. PR practitioners usually think analytically and are very result oriented. Ensuring objective(s) to be achieved is most crucial and vital for every PR practitioner. In other words, PR Industry is about being perfect and effective. Although, no one is perfect, but PR tries to be as perfect as possible.

"Public relations focus less on advertising and more on giving valuable information to the public. Now, you can’t launch a public relations campaign and then sit back to see what works and what doesn’t. You have to carefully monitor every single aspect – from events to simple clippings – to find out which are drawing attention towards your organization and which are not. Of the ones that are, you’ll want to determine if the attention is positive or negative and then take action to either enhance or correct the image you are portraying to the public”.

Therefore, PR practitioners are definitely detailed people and these kind of people are a necessity for every company to posses as it will ensure a good flow within your organization and your consumers. PR also takes seriously on revenue making. They strive hard to ensure the company makes a lot of money and ensures a good relationship with the stake holders. They will please your stake holders and ensure they are always happy with the company’s performance and also ensure products produced are up to consumers satisfaction. PR practitioners are pleased if feedback is given because we would understand and made aware if the services provided is sufficient to the consumers. This will also allow the PR department to convey the message to the company for their awareness and to ensure action is taken.

Your company will definitely see its benefits if they established a PR department. Maybe if not establishing your own PR Department, maybe consider hiring a third-party PR company to carry out the publicity for you. You will not only gain popularity within your society, but also profit making benefits. Techniques PR practitioners used are very much more effective compared to advertisement and it leaves a much permanent impact towards the public/consumer. For advertising, they only ensure your company is published in a poster, or article, etc. but for PR, they do not only ensure your company to be published but reach out to the public to ensure they are made aware of it and gets feedback for your perusal. It does not end up to there, they also follow-up on your profit progression and if it is not making money, they will come up with other alternatives and strive to ensure it is a success. They tend to go all-out for obtaining achievement in their objectives. They will do talks in schools, shopping malls or maybe even in a local residential area. They will also plan campaigns, carnivals, private events, press-conference, exhibitions, meetings with stake-holders just to ensure there is no communication breakdown in occurrence. Besides being a communication expert, PR practitioners are also literate in administrative tasks. I can say you are killing two birds with one stone if you establish a PR Department in your organization/company.

In regards of non-governmental organization such as the Zoo Negara, they require helping hand from its public to support the up-keeping of the animals. Thus, PR practice can assist in increasing the number of visitors and volunteers by promoting the benefits of visiting the zoo. What the Zoo has to offer: Knowledge and fun for the family. Every child definitely desires to visit the zoo and therefore we have found our main target customer. We should increase in promoting the zoo in elementary schools, pre-schools and also in shopping complexes where usually families hang-out. We can then set-up a booth, have a mini-petting zoo for display and promote the Zoo with attractive packages. We should apply the hypodermic syringe/magic bullet theory here and persuade the public to visit the zoo. Besides visiting, to increase the number of volunteers, usually universities students are most likely to participate as volunteers at the zoo.

Hence, we can organize a booth at universities around the Kelang Valley with the objective of getting more volunteers. At the road show, we are supposed to brief them on their expectations. Moreover, we can also release press-entries for the Zoo Negara, writing up the most moving column and get the public’s attention about Zoo Negara. Plus, if you want to reach large audiences as inexpensively as possible, public relations is the way to go. Public relations includes the creation and distribution of information, primarily in the form of stories, published or broadcast by mass media such as newspapers, magazines, television and radio. Because the media do not charge for publishing these articles, but consider them valuable for their readers, PR has the power to reach millions of people for very little money, generating many valuable sales leads. That is how PR can assist in a Non-Governmental Funded Organization.

Inheritance

When you were born,
Death is what you inherited.
Life is your mission,
and time defines who you are.
We can not run-away from death
and having a wholesome life before dying,
is what  you target in your life.
Wealth is what we desire,
Happiness is what we hope,
and Fulfillment is what we pursue.
Make each day a blessing and make each minute meaningful,
if not today you inherit wholesome, plan for tomorrow or day after.

The model of communication

This was my homework, hopefully it will help all the brothers and sisters out there, With love :)

THE MODEL OF COMMUNICATION.

As a Media practitioner, everyone must know by heart the classic model of communication introduced by Harold Laswell (1927) .In his model of communication; he shows the movement or flow of communication as below:
(WHO?) à (SAY WHAT?) à (THROUGH WHAT?) à (TO WHOM) à(WHAT EFFECT?)
Speaker          message                      channels                     audience                     feedback
Then when the world is evolving and coming towards modernization and technology wise, the communication model is once again changed and now it is more appropriate and precise to a technology literate as in this global village era. “In 1948, Claude Elwood Shannon published a Mathematical Theory of communication” (Wikipedia, March 2012). In his model, Shannon has introduced Noise, symbol, and signal. The Shannon communication model is also known as the mother of all communication models.

In Shannon communication model, there are 8 keys elements. 5 of the elements is the same as Laswell’s (1927) model communication, which are: The encoder(who), The message(say what), The channel(through what), The decoder(receiver) , The feedback (with what effect).
To understand how the Shannon-Weaver Model pertains to communication, it is necessary to define each individual element.

Source
The source of communication is the initiator, or origin, that puts the model into action. It is an individual or group that has a specific reason to begin the communication process. That is, there is a message that they wish another to receive.

Encoder
Once the purpose of the source has been decided, there must be a specified format for the message to take. This is what the communication encoder does; it takes the concept that the source wants sent out, and puts it into a suitable format for later interpretation.

Message
The information, idea, or concept that is being communicated from one end of the model to the other is the message. Most of the time, in human communication, the message contains a distinct meaning. When the model was created, Shannon and Weaver were not concerned whether the message had substance, but rather that it was being transmitted.

Channel
It is essential for meaningful communication that a suitable means to transmit the message be selected. The channel is the route that the message travels on, be it verbal, written, electronic, or otherwise.

Noise
It is inevitable that noise may come into play during the communication process. Noise could be considered an interference or distortion that changes the initial message; anything that can misconstrue the message may be noise. Noise can be physical, as in an actual sound that muffles the message as it is being said, or it can be semantic, like if the vocabulary used within the message is beyond the knowledge spectrum of its recipient. In order for communication to be effective, noise must be reduced.

Decoder
Before the message reaches the intended recipient, it must be decoded, or interpreted, from its original form into one that the receiver understands. This is essentially the same interaction as that of source and encoder, only in a reversed sequence.

Receiver
In order for communication to be executed, there must be a second party at the end of the channel the source has used. The receiver takes in the message that the source has sent out.

Feedback
For meaningful communication to come to fruition, it is vital that the receiver provides feedback to the source. Feedback relates to the source whether their message has been received, and most importantly, if it has been interpreted accurately. Without feedback, the source would never know if the communication was successful. Ongoing communication is made possible by the cyclical route feedback allows; if more communication between the two parties is necessary, they can follow the model indefinitely.  (Arline Dyer, Melanie Hayden, & Diane Lanctot, n.d retrived)
